You will help ensure availability of clean instruments for customer departments and operate processing equipment following AAMI, AORN, and CDC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly and assist caller with obtaining items needed
• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures
• Makes rounds to deliver sterile and non-sterile instrumentation, supplies and equipment
• Delivers scheduled case carts to the Surgery Department
• Inventories and delivers back-up case carts to the Surgery Department
• Maintains responsibility for returned instrumentation and supplies and packaging integrity
• Performs cleaning and decontamination duties, ensuring cleanliness and safety
• Inspects, assembles, and packages all decontaminated instruments for cleanliness and functionality
• Operates processing equipment and performs sterilization monitoring
• Adheres to safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions
• Keeps the department organized, clean, and stocked; provides quality customer service
• Acts as a preceptor for new employees
