Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the OR by delivering fully functional sterile instrumentation on time and to high safety standards. The SPD Tech performs decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to AAMI, AORN, and CDC guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; one year of healthcare experience preferred; sterile processing experience preferred; and certification within 12 months

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
• Nationally recognized Sterile Processing certification required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch of instrumentation.
• Delivers case carts and instrumentation to the OR and Surgical Department.
• Maintains instrument inventory and ensures packaging integrity.
• Adheres to safety, HIPAA, and department procedures.
