Job summary

sefl is seeking a PT Outbound Freight Handler in the United States (North Carolina). You will load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and ensure safe handling using proper equipment. Prior forklift or warehouse experience is preferred, with a background check and drug screen required.

Pay ranges from $18.70 to $22.20 per hour, with a second shift. Prior forklift certification is a plus, and you may work in a dynamic, hands-on environment requiring attention to detail and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check and an alcohol/drug test.
• Prior experience as forklift operator, dock, warehouse, or material handler preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto/off equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
• Use safe lifting techniques to load/unload freight.
• Select and use freight handling equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks.
• Weigh and dimension shipments to classify and rate freight.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading.
• Count and inspect freight for shortages or damage.
• Review freight bills for special instructions.
• Check manifests and destination codes against freight bills.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when loading.
