Job summary

sefl is seeking a PT Outbound Freight Handler in Florida to load and unload freight, inspect trailers, and ensure safe handling. You will use forklifts and other equipment, weigh and dimension shipments, and verify bills and manifests.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, pass a background check and drug test, and may hold a forklift certification. Prior warehouse-related experience is preferred, with second shift availability. Pay ranges from $18.70 to $22.20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Background check and alcohol/drug test required.
• Preferred prior experience as Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers before loading.
• Use safe lifting techniques and appropriate equipment to move freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Inspect freight for shortages or damage and document findings.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when required.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
