Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in New York is seeking a Molding Setup Technician to set up, adjust, and maintain molding machines for high-quality plastic parts. You will install molds, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safe, efficient production in a fast-paced environment.

The team collaborates with quality and maintenance to meet production goals, uphold GMP standards, and drive continuous improvement across the lab products division. A high school diploma and plastics/mfg training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in manufacturing/plastics preferred.
• Experience with molding machines and tooling required.
• 2+ years of molding setup or processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start up molding machines per production schedules.
• Install and remove molds with proper alignment and connections.
• Adjust machine parameters for optimal performance.
• Perform first-piece inspections to verify quality.
• Troubleshoot molding issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust during production.
• Maintain molds and equipment through routine maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain accurate production and setup documentation.
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams.
