Job summary

Tenneco is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will perform MIG welding on metal components per blueprints and work instructions, ensuring weld integrity and dimensional accuracy on diverse metals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, MIG welding experience, and the ability to pass a MIG evaluation within 60 days of hire. Candidates must be capable of reading blueprints and maintaining quality records in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must pass MIG welder evaluation test within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding to join similar or dissimilar metals, ensuring welds meet strength, dimensional, and cosmetic standards while minimizing distortion.
• Review and verify correct blueprint or work instruction for each job; identify components and weld according to specifications.
• Conduct first-piece inspection to ensure conformance; record results on job card and perform/document hourly quality checks.
• Accurately complete and update hourly count boards to track production progress.
• Communicate production counts to supervisor at the end of each shift and properly tag/identify completed product containers.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, adjusting voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow to suit job requirements.
• Use appropriate hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and clamps to hold workpieces securely during welding.
• Maintain work area in compliance with 5S standards and follow all EHS policies and procedures.
