Deckorators, a UFP Industries brand, seeks a hands-on Injection Molding Supervisor to lead the second shift, manage people and production, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the molding department.

The ideal candidate has PVC injection molding experience and a track record of balancing production demands with strong leadership and problem-solving on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with plastic injection molding processes and equipment is required.
• PVC injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
• Two to four years of manufacturing experience required.
• One to three years of experience leading, supervising, or managing employees required.
• Post-secondary education, technical training, or equivalent relevant manufacturing leadership experience required.
• Working knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, processing requirements, and production workflows.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance and standard work instructions.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices including lockout/tagout.
• Familiarity with 5S and total productive maintenance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize people, machines, materials, and schedules in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify production issues, root causes, and implement practical solutions.
• Comfortable learning company systems and production-reporting tools.
• Ability to complete forklift licensing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the injection molding department during second shift.
• Direct, train, coach, and develop production employees.
• Communicate daily production priorities and performance results.
• Assign employees and equipment based on schedules, staffing needs, machine availability, and mold capacity.
• Monitor production performance and adjust to meet safety, quality, cost goals.
• Oversee setup, operation, and performance of injection molding machines.
• Ensure process checks, documentation, and quality inspections are completed.
• Identify and resolve production, quality, staffing, and equipment issues.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and tooling changes with Maintenance.
• Help reduce downtime, waste, overtime and inefficiencies.
• Maintain department inventory and movement of materials.
• Review employee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Identify employees for training and advancement.
• Ensure employees are trained before operating machinery.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives like 5S and TPM.
• Use production data and visual tools to communicate priorities.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance.
• Promote a safety-first culture and proper PPE.
• Support safety analyses and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Prepare production reports and maintain records.
• Communicate with management and other departments about status.
• Complete forklift training and assist with material movement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
