Job summary

Deckorators, a UFP Industries brand, seeks an Injection Molding Supervisor for the second shift to lead people, equipment, and production in the injection molding department. Strong PVC molding experience and a safety-first mindset are essential.

You will direct operations, train workers, manage schedules, monitor performance, and partner with maintenance to minimize downtime while upholding our quality standards for outdoor-living products.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with plastic injection molding processes and equipment.
• PVC injection molding experience strongly preferred.
• 2–4 years of manufacturing experience required.
• 1–3 years of supervising or leading employees.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent leadership training.
• Knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, and processing.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance and machine troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with 5S and total productive maintenance.
• Strong safety practices and production documentation knowledge.
• Ability to organize people, machines, and schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the injection molding department on the second shift.
• Direct, train, coach, and develop production employees.
• Communicate daily production priorities and performance results.
• Assign staffing and equipment based on schedules and capacity.
• Monitor performance and adjust to meet safety, quality, cost, and output goals.
• Oversee setup, operation, and performance of molding machines and equipment.
• Ensure process checks, documentation, and inspections are completed on time.
• Identify and resolve production, quality, and staffing issues.
• Collaborate with Maintenance on preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Reduce downtime, waste, and overtime through improvements.
• Maintain department inventory and material movement.
• Conduct timely performance reviews and coaching.
• Identify training needs and advancement opportunities.
• Ensure safety procedures and forklift licensing are followed.
• Lead continuous-improvement efforts (5S, TPM, standard work).
• Use data to communicate priorities and department performance.
• Conduct routine machine, process, housekeeping, and safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
