Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines seeks a PT Outbound Freight Handler to load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and verify paperwork. You will assess weight distribution, assist with hazardous materials, and ensure safe handling and secure restraint of loads.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to pass a background check and drug test. Prior forklift or warehouse experience is preferred; certification is advantageous. Role is on-site with second-shift hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience as Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker is preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and alcohol/drug test.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment using proper lifting techniques.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments to ensure proper classification and safe handling.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material details and proper placarding when loading.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
