Southeastern Freight Lines is hiring a part-time Outbound Freight Handler. The role involves loading and unloading freight, preparing trailers, and ensuring safe handling throughout the process.

You will use forklifts and other equipment, weigh/dimension shipments, and document shortages or damage while following safety protocols. Prior forklift experience and a background check are preferred.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Prior forklift operator, dock/warehouse or material handler experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred or required in some locations.

Mansioni

• Load and unload freight from equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
• Use safe lifting techniques when loading and unloading freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for classification and handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution during loading.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and proper placarding.
