Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Background check and an alcohol/drug test are required.
• Preference for prior experience as a forklift operator, dock or warehouse worker, or material handler.
• Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment using safe lifting techniques.
• Weigh and dimension shipments to ensure proper classification and safe handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
• Review freight bills and manifests for special instructions and discrepancies.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when applicable.
