Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a PT Outbound Freight Handler to assist in loading and unloading freight and preparing trailers. The role requires attention to safety, accurate weighing and dimensioning, and strict adherence to bill of lading details.

Preferred candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and demonstrated forklift certification. Background checks and drug testing are required as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background check and an alcohol and drug test must be passed.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Prior experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments; plan cube utilization and weight distribution.
• Review freight bills and manifests; check for exceptions and instructions.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when loading hazmat; brace freight to prevent shifting.
