Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, braking, and HVAC systems. You’ll work with a single fleet and support drivers across on-road routes, with ongoing training on new technologies.

The role emphasizes diagnosing multi-system issues, performing preventative maintenance, and safety-focused road service when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing multi-system issues on heavy-duty or light/medium trucks.
• 3–5 years in a technician role or graduating from automotive college/tech school within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus but not required.
• AES/T1-T8 certifications are a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies, and braking systems.
• Perform light engine work, HVAC, suspension, and drive train maintenance.
• Provide road service when needed to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools and complete training programs.
