Job summary

Republic Services, a leader in environmental services, seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and HVAC components. You will service a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment, supporting drivers on routes and contributing to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or graduation from automotive college/technical school within the next 3 months.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies, including hydraulic/electrical systems and air/brake systems.
• Perform light engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain and steering work, HVAC, and welding/fabrication.
• Provide road service to return equipment to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
