Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the second shift in a unionized automotive painting operation in Grand Rapids, MI. You will oversee one Team Leader and about 25 employees across loading, unloading, line support, and quality auditing, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.

You will drive daily priorities, coach staff, and ensure adherence to plant procedures, chemical handling, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in unionized settings preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and continuous-improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership for second-shift paint operations.
• Lead one Team Leader and ~25 employees across multiple functions.
• Assign labor/resources to meet daily production targets.
• Monitor line performance, quality, scrap, and downtime; take corrective action.
• Promote safety culture and compliance with PPE and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Production to resolve defects.
• Troubleshoot automated paint line, robotics, conveyors, sensors, and controls.
• Ensure proper staging and tracking of materials to support operations.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and effective handovers to next shift.
• Train and develop staff and enforce standardized work in a union setting.
• Prepare production reports and drive Lean improvements.
