Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with complex tax situations, including individuals and businesses. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, deliver personalized recommendations, and build lasting client relationships while leveraging training and technology.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning and audit support
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
