Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses.

You will conduct in-depth client interviews, provide clear recommendations, build lasting relationships, and deliver tax savings opportunities with the support of industry-leading training and technology. The role offers competitive hourly pay and an incentive plan based on impact and expertise.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication, can explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
