Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, and to conduct in-depth client interviews to uncover tax implications. You will deliver personalized recommendations and build lasting client relationships.

This in-person role at a local Block Advisors office offers training and technology to help you navigate complex tax situations, with a competitive hourly rate and an incentive plan that rewards impact as you develop

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements; high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and Block products/services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
