Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and offer personalized recommendations. You will build lasting client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities using our training and technology, with a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan.

This role is in-person at a local Block Advisors office, collaborating with teammates and supporting clients through IRS notices and audits as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns and audits.
• Client-facing, consultative or advisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations.
