Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate in-person at a local tax office to help clients with information gathering, tax return preparation, and answering questions. No prior tax experience is required, with training and support from day one to grow in the role.

You will meet with clients, prepare returns, and explain tax details while identifying savings opportunities and providing tailored recommendations. This role emphasizes client service and teamwork during tax season.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
