Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person role at a local tax office. You’ll work with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

No prior tax experience required; you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow as you build tax knowledge. Availability for peak-season evenings/weekends is helpful.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
