Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in-person. You will meet clients, gather information, and prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

The role offers training and the chance to earn by leveraging tax knowledge and client service skills. Availability for peak periods is expected, with evenings/weekends during tax season. No prior tax experience is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
