Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate for a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required, as training and support are provided from day one. You’ll meet with clients to gather information and prepare tax returns while learning on the job.

In this in-person role you will identify tax savings opportunities, explain information clearly, and help build strong client relationships. Hours can vary with peak periods and potential earnings growth during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach.
