Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will help clients gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

There is potential to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. Availability includes evenings and weekends during peak periods, with hours ranging 15–40 per week. No prior tax experience is required, and the role focuses on client service and growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
