Job summary

Five Below in Waterbury, CT is seeking a capable Store Manager on Duty to oversee daily operations and lead crew members in delivering exceptional customer service.

You will train associates on the BEST customer service experience, manage opening/closing, coordinate merchandising, and drive sales while controlling store expenses. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to stay poised under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Creative thinking and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all crew members are Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring each guest has a fast, friendly check-out.
• Helps oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring effective performance and service.
• Assists with receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock for quick placement on sales floor.
• Acts as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations and staff.
• Occasionally manages opening/closing, including cash security, doors, and alarms.
• Supports onboarding and ongoing training of associates on policies and procedures.
• Drives store sales and controls expenses by optimizing merchandising and staff performance.
• Partners with store leadership in merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Performs store maintenance including cleaning and stock room upkeep.
