Job summary

The City of SeaTac is seeking seasonal Recreation Program Assistants under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor. You will help conduct indoor and outdoor activities, assist participants, maintain equipment and facilities, and support staff during events.

Required: minimum age 16, interest in community recreation, ability to learn procedures, and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Interest in community recreation and/or education programs preferred.
• A combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and skills to perform the job will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in indoor and outdoor recreational activities (arts, crafts, field trips, sports).
• Help lead a variety of youth recreational activities and supervise programs.
• Maintain program equipment and keep facilities and grounds neat, clean and litter free; perform custodial and light maintenance duties.
• Provide information to participants about programs, policies, regulations and schedules; answer inquiries in person or by phone.
• Render routine First Aid and CPR as needed; obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
