Job summary

City of SeaTac is seeking a Recreation Leader 3 to help design and deliver engaging recreational and educational programs for diverse community members. You will lead activities, guide junior staff, and help ensure facilities are welcoming, safe, and ready for use.

You will coordinate events, support administrative tasks, and uphold the City’s values through collaboration and responsible service to the public.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of community-based recreation or closely related experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License by date of appointment.
  • Satisfactory three-year driving abstract.
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Food handler’s permit (for senior programs) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan, and implement recreational and educational classes, activities, and community-wide events.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
  • Lead groups across multiple age ranges and populations.
  • Provide direction to Recreation Leader 1 and Recreation Leader 2 staff.
  • Prepare facilities for use: set up tables, chairs, equipment, and materials; perform custodial tasks.
