Job summary

Abeja Winery’s Kitchen is seeking a part-time Prep/Line Cook to join our culinary team on a seasonal basis. The role offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and opportunities to work with fresh, locally sourced ingredients on a scenic farm site.

Ideal candidates are team players with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen while following recipes and health/safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience as line cook or prep cook, pastry experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Knife skills and ability to adjust preparations for flavor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and chef specifications.
• Handle and prep ingredients: wash, peel, chop, slice fruits and vegetables.
• Execute precise techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, grills, fryers).
• Cook basic dishes: soups, entrees, desserts.
• Monitor temperatures and cooking times for safety and quality.
• Plate and garnish dishes aesthetically.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and sanitize surfaces.
• Wash and sanitize utensils and equipment.
• Follow food handling and safety procedures.
• Monitor inventory and restock as needed.
• Inform supervisor of shortages and needs for supplies.
• Label and store ingredients properly.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
