Job summary

LaBelle Winery is seeking a personable Cook I to join our Amherst/Derry kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be energetic, eager to learn about wine and food, and committed to kitchen safety and quality. You will prep simple dishes, follow recipes, and help maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, with benefits including health and vision insurance, 401k matching, paid time off, and a referral program. Weekend/holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a desire to work efficiently and urgently to complete daily tasks.
• Must have knowledge of proper knife skills.
• Knowledge of basic cooking procedure.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of simple dishes such as salads, raw bar platters, pizzas, and desserts
• Follow prep lists created by Chefs
• Ensures that the daily prep tasks are completed prior to service
• Follows basic recipes and/or product directions
• Prepares foods by operating kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish
• Tastes products, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe handling procedures
• Assuring compliance with sanitation and allergen procedures
• Utilize approved food production standards to ensure proper quality, temperatures and portion control
• Knowledge and adherence to proper food storage such as wrapping, dating, rotation procedures
• Label and stock ingredients and clean/sanitize work stations
• Additional duties as assigned
• Food Truck Duties: prep and cook menu items to order, maintain safety and sanitation, assist with truck setup, manage inventory, additional duties as assigned
