Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Operations Technical Specialist to support the readiness of the seasonal tax office network. You will help offices stay equipped, functional, and brand-compliant, working with DOCs, TIAs, and field leadership to open, operate, and close offices smoothly.

You will perform hands-on maintenance, hardware setup across locations, inventory management, and ongoing knowledge of supported systems while coordinating with district teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow direction while exercising sound judgment in a field-based environment.
• Able to lift and move office equipment up to 55 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Basic technical knowledge including setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware.
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced seasonal role with a flexible schedule.
• Demonstrated organization and prioritization; ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between office locations as required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for quick, sound decisions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; able to interact across levels.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and other Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices according to schedules.
• Execute office setup activities, including planograms, window clings, lightboxes, and brand compliance.
• Perform custodial tasks to keep offices clean, organized, and operational.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lights, HVAC vents, minor repairs, and low-voltage work.
• Identify maintenance issues needing certified technicians and alert DOCs.
• Install, remove, and support PC hardware across multiple locations with guidance.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware issues and document incidents in the case system.
• Deliver supplies and maintain inventory of district resources and equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of supported products and systems.
• Collaborate with district leadership and technology teams to support readiness goals.
• Participate in required training and perform other duties as assigned.
