Job summary

Shenandoahcareers is seeking a Host for a seasonal role in Stanley, VA. You will greet guests, seat guests, and process payments with a friendly, efficient approach to ensure outstanding guest service.

This position offers an hourly rate of $16.00, requires HS diploma, and prior restaurant experience preferred. Seasonal dates run April to November at Big Meadows Lodge and Skyland Resort in Shenandoah National Park.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and people skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to count change and reconcile paperwork.
• Obtain ServSafe Certification in accordance with company policy.
• Majority of shift spent on feet in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter the restaurant in a professional and timely manner.
• Follow seating and table rotation guidelines to monitor flow and ensure prompt service.
• Possess thorough knowledge of restaurant and bar menu promotions and specials.
• Proficiency with cash handling and credit card transactions.
• Promote teamwork by assisting servers in dining area when needed.
• Ensure host station and entrance area are clean, organized, and presentable.
• Understand Company ISO management systems, Health and Safety standards, policies and initiatives.
• Other duties per duties checklist and as requested.
