Job summary

The State of Ohio is hiring a Temporary - Full Time Highway Maintenance worker for districts including Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Montgomery and others. The Sidney location operates 7:30am–4:30pm, M–F, with seasonal hours and potential overtime.

CDL with tanker endorsement is required, and duties include flagging, pothole repair, mowing, and snow/ice operations. Positions are up to 1,000 hours with possible night/weekend shifts; background checks and drug testing are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic education including addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages and fractions.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience operating basic equipment.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement as required to operate motorized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and work to make Ohio roads safer.
• Perform highway maintenance tasks: flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• Conduct snow and ice operations.
