Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Seasonal Journeyman Mechanic in San Marcos, CA to join our fleet maintenance team. The role covers diesel, gasoline and alternative propulsion systems, with emphasis on diagnostic and repair skills for varied equipment including delivery vehicles and trailers.

Shifts include 2nd or 3rd, Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday, per location needs. Candidate must bring own hand tools and be ready to meet DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive/heavy equipment experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• ASE certifications - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets DOT requirements as per job assignment.
• Operate standard/manual transmission and power tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot vehicles and trailers across multiple propulsion systems.
