Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Operations Technical Specialist to support the readiness of our seasonal tax office network. You will help open, operate, and close offices, ensuring each location is equipped, clean, and aligned with brand standards.

You will install and service PC hardware, troubleshoot basic tech issues, manage supplies, and coordinate with district leaders and TIAs to keep offices running smoothly through peak season.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions with sound judgment in field environments.
• Ability to lift and move office equipment up to 55 pounds.
• Basic technical knowledge: setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and office tech.
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, seasonal role with flexible scheduling.
• Strong organization and prioritization; able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices.
• Install and confirm brand-compliant setup (window clings, signs, planograms).
• Perform custodial tasks to keep offices clean and ready for operation.
• Perform routine maintenance like replacing bulbs, cleaning vents, repairing minor issues.
• Identify maintenance issues and notify District Operations Coordinator.
• Install, remove, and support PC hardware across locations with guidance.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware and document incidents in the case system.
• Deliver supplies to and from offices in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of district resources and equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of supported products/systems.
• Partner with leadership and tech teams to support office readiness.
• Participate in required training and other duties as assigned.
