Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Operations Technical Specialist to support the readiness of our seasonal tax office network. You will help open, operate, and close locations, install branding elements, and maintain hardware across multiple offices.

The role requires field work, independent scheduling, and reliable transport. You will collaborate with District Operations Coordinators and TIAs to ensure offices are well-equipped, compliant, and operational at all times.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions with good judgment in a field-based setting.
• Capable of lifting up to 55 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Basic technical knowledge: setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and office tech.
• Flexible schedule based on seasonal demand and business needs.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel between office locations as required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for issues via chat, email, and in person.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices per schedules and standards.
• Install and confirm brand-compliant setup elements (planograms, window clings, lightboxes, open signs).
• Perform custodial tasks to keep offices clean and ready for operation.
• Handle basic maintenance like bulbs, HVAC vents, minor repairs, and low-voltage work.
• Identify issues needing certified technicians and notify DOCs.
• Install, remove, and support PC hardware across offices with guidance from DOCs/TIAs.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware and document incidents/resolutions in the case system.
• Deliver supplies between offices and maintain inventory of district resources and equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and coordinate with leadership and technology teams.
