Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking a Seasonal Assistant District Manager to lead day-to-day operations across twenty or more stores. You will collaborate with the District Manager to optimize district performance, recruit and onboard seasonal staff, and ensure adherence to standards in office setup, technology, and facilities.

The role requires 2 years of management experience, an entrepreneurial mindset, and tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent related business experience.
• 2 years previous management or supervisory experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit to drive results.
• Tax knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills.
• Reliable transportation, insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Dayforce or other HRIS, time-tracking, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge in accounting or tax preparation software preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of seasonal team members across 20+ stores and/or kiosks.
• Lead recruiting and interviewing of seasonal employees; drive tax education and transition to hire.
• Monitor employee performance; coordinate with HR on training, development, and employee relations.
• Ensure locations meet company standards: office setup, technology, facilities; coordinate with property managers.
• Grow the business by retaining and attracting clients and building brand awareness.
• Resolve client questions regarding policies; guide employees in handling difficult problems.
• Monitor P&L and revenue targets; meet district goals including cash control and tax return count.
