Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Client Service Professional / Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our office in Kings Mountain, NC.

You will greet clients, manage check-in, answer calls, and arrange appointments with the appropriate tax professional. In this role, you’ll support daily office operations, scan and organize documents, and help maintain a professional and confidential client experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and serve clients professionally.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities throughout the day.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfort using basic computer programs and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams and scheduling systems).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season.
• Preferred: High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Preferred: Experience in hospitality, call center, customer service or medical industries.
• Preferred: Experience in receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role.
• Preferred: Experience in tax office, CPA firm, or financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and create a welcoming, professional first impression as the face of the office
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and match clients with the right tax professional based on their needs
• Manage client check-in and intake processes, including scanning and organizing documents
• Maintain office organization and cleanliness to support a smooth, professional client experience
• Collaborate with tax professionals and team members to ensure seamless daily operations
• Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality, discretion, and care
