Job summary

The State of Indiana, through INDOT, seeks a Seasonal Winter Maintenance Worker based in the Plymouth Sub District. The role involves snow and ice removal, sign and pavement maintenance, and operating highway equipment to keep roads safe.

A CDL Class A or B is required, with the ability to work in cold and challenging weather conditions. Benefits are limited for seasonal roles; interviews are open on a specified date, and starting dates offer a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL.
• Drug test required.
• Ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in varying weather and conditions.
• Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to repair and clean highways and right-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Respond to emergencies with traffic control, lane closures, and signs.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; perform routine maintenance and fueling.
• Adhere to INDOT safety policies and procedures and document work in the system.
