Job summary

2nd & Charles in Hoover, AL, is seeking a Buyer to evaluate and take in used books, media, and collectibles at the buy counter and to make fair offers. You’ll use your product knowledge to decide what to buy and help customers find their next discovery.

You’ll greet customers, provide confident offers, and ensure accurate intake of items into inventory. The role emphasizes service, speed, and maintain merchandising standards across the store.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, process, and merchandise traded product efficiently so it reaches the sales floor quickly.
• Research and input product and customer information accurately to protect trade accuracy.
• Provide quotes for purchases and intake into store inventory with honesty and integrity.
• Create a friendly, fast, and helpful buyback experience for customers.
• Maintain store merchandising standards and keep areas clean and welcoming.
