Job summary

Maricopa is seeking a Temporary Ballot Courier in Phoenix to collect ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes and securely deliver them to the central warehouse during the election cycle. The role supports early voting operations such as Signature Verification and Curing, with a focus on accuracy and security.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, voter eligibility by hire, and the ability to lift and move light weights. Overtime hours are mandatory during the election season.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be a registered voter or able to become a registered voter in Arizona by time of hire.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire.
• Must pass a background screening.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Audits are conducted when ballots arrive at the central warehouse and ballots are prepared for transport.
• Retrieves ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes and securely delivers them to the central warehouse for processing.
• Completes a chain-of-custody form that is signed by a Polling Location or Vote Center Inspector to ensure lawful hand-off and transportation of ballots.
• Assists other divisions of Elections with daily functions and activities, along with other duties as assigned.
• Works in teams of two representing different political affiliations (e.g. Republican and Democrat).
