Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking Temporary Ballot Couriers to retrieve ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes and securely deliver them to the central warehouse for processing. This temporary assignment supports the election cycle and may involve early voting tasks such as signature verification and curing.

Candidates should be adaptable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly. A high school diploma or GED is required, and overtime during the election season should be expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be a registered voter or eligible to become one by time of hire.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire.
• Must pass a background screening; drug/alcohol testing if designated as safety-sensitive.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes and deliver them to the central warehouse for processing.
• Support divisions within Elections, including early voting tasks (Signature Verification, Curing, etc.).
• Work in teams representing different political affiliations to ensure impartial hand-off of ballots.
• Complete chain-of-custody forms for lawful hand-off and transportation of ballots.
• Assist other divisions with daily functions and related duties as assigned.
