Job summary

Maricopa County in Arizona is seeking a Temporary Pre-Tabulation Room Attendant I to help move trays of early ballots and keep processing areas organized. You will load, unload, and transport ballots on wheeled carts and assist with retention and audit paperwork.

The role is seasonal, with a pay of $18.50 per hour and mandatory overtime during election cycles. Flexible hours may vary from part-time to full-time to meet business needs, and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• We require experience utilizing a calculator or similar device
• A high school diploma or GED
• Must successfully complete a background screening
• Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
• Mandatory overtime during all election cycles
• We also value one or more years of general office experience
• One or more years of moderate computer use experience
• One or more years of election experience
• One or more years of customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Transports ballots on wheeled racks and carts within the room and keeps them properly organized.
• Distributes and collects trays of early ballots to and from processing tables, ensuring each tray has complete documentation.
• Delivers processed trays to the Quality Control area within the room, properly staging trays and paperwork.
• Removes processed affidavits from trays reviewed by QC, verifies their accuracy, and loads ballot trays onto carts for delivery to the Ballot Tabulation Center.
• Helps prepare processed affidavits for retention by carefully boxing and labeling them to ensure accurate auditing.
• Organizes retention boxes in numerical order and moves them to the designated storage area.
• Assists supervisory staff by identifying processing tables that need assistance.
