Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire.
  • Must pass a background screening.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Audits are conducted when ballots arrive at the central warehouse and ballots are prepared for transport.
  • Retrieves ballots from Ballot Drop Boxes and securely delivers them to the central warehouse for processing.
  • Completes a chain-of-custody form that is signed by a Polling Location or Vote Center Inspector to ensure lawful hand-off and transportation of ballots.
  • Assists other divisions of Elections with daily functions and activities, along with other duties as assigned.
  • Works in teams of two representing different political affiliations (e.g. Republican and Democrat).

The Temporary Ballot Courier position is a temporary assignment with Maricopa County before, during, and after the election cycle. This cross-functional position will also support divisional operations within early voting (Signature Verification, Curing, etc.).
