Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a Seal Repair Technician who will own complex seal repair activities and act as a technical resource for the repair team. The role is hands-on, requiring strong problem-solving skills and minimal supervision to manage repairs from evaluation to final assembly.

The position emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement, with collaboration across Engineering, Sales, and Operations to address customer needs. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical seals experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or upstream markets.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical seal repair processes from inspection through final assembly.
• Serve as a technical mentor and resource for repair personnel.
• Independently identify solutions and drive repair work to completion with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations and other teams to resolve technical questions.
• Maintain accurate repair records and documentation.
