Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a Seal Repair/Maintenance Technician-Assembly for rotating equipment. Under supervision, you will DCI, disassemble and assemble seals, and document wear on critical components.

You should have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of mechanical seal experience in relevant industries, plus the ability to follow instructions. We support an inclusive culture with ERGs and the Smiths Excellence Awards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical seal equipment experience.
• Experience in refining/petrochemical/chemical/power sectors preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble seals per repair packet and route.
• Document wear and condition of components in writing.
• Take pictures of critical components and log inspection data.
• Identify repairable vs non-repairable material.
• Perform basic shop operations and verify specifications.
