Job summary

San Pedro Fish Market Long Beach is seeking a BOH Supervisor to coach the crew, model leadership, and deliver an outstanding seafood experience. This role emphasizes accountability, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen and dining environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in food service or hospitality, strong communication, and a valid Manager Food Handler’s Card. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred to engage diverse guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
• 5+ years of food service or hospitality experience.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
• Current Manager Food Handler’s Card must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Coach and drive positive crew behavior that aligns with our Core Values focusing on accountability, integrity and teamwork.
• Communicate clear expectations, goals and priorities for each shift.
• Provide real-time guidance to maintain productivity and to ensure the team upholds SPFM standards of service, food and hospitality.
• Train, develop and supervise crew members; observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary.
• Execute and verify opening/closing tasks to standard, including set-up, restocking, sanitation and shutdown checklists.
• Monitor food and product quality ensuring everything served meets brand standards.
• Report shift outcomes to the Manager including team performance and inventory concerns.
• Maintain clear communication with crew, peers and management.
• Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety and health code procedures.
• Comply with city, state, federal regulations and promptly report concerns.
