The Kroger Co. is seeking a skilled Meat Department Manager to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. You will uphold safety, sanitation, and quality standards while driving department performance and relationships with store teams.

Responsibilities include setting goals, scheduling, training staff, organizing inventory, promoting specials, reviewing product quality, and managing budget and revenue targets to ensure profitable store operations.

• Communicate company, department and job information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets through teamwork.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers by answering questions.
• Inform customers of specials and offer product samples to help discover items.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Inform and educate associates about promotions and plan changes.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales/merchandising supervisor.
• Manage period promotional plans and assist with budget, expense control and P&L reviews.
