Job summary

Kobie is a remote-first team building a next-generation loyalty platform. We seek a software tester who can enable teams to implement robust quality practices, automate tests, and push for continuous quality improvements across our engineering groups.

Ideal candidates have 0–3 years in software testing, a CS degree or equivalent, and strong automation experience with Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. Experience with Selenium, CI/CD, and REST APIs is valued as we deliver high-quality software for

Qualifications

• 0-3 years experience as a software developer, Software Developer in Test, or a similar role.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent, or analogous work experience.
• Fluency in software testing methodologies: white box, black box, unit, integration, functional, performance.
• Bias toward automation over manual testing with proven automation experience.
• Expertise in testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and curiosity about new tools.
• Production software coding experience is a must.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Karate).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience with performance testing tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices is a plus.
• ISTQB or similar certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enable teams by providing an environment and knowledge to run a robust quality program and perform tests where appropriate.
• Shift left on quality, automate tests, and move the needle on core quality metrics.
• Guide our software engineering team on a continuous improvement journey.
• Provide tooling, advocacy, and education to enable test automation across teams.
• Demonstrate continual, meaningful software quality progress to stakeholders.
