Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Denver, Colorado is seeking an Software Development Engineer I to build internal tools and platforms that empower AWS teams.

You will work with a creative group to design, implement, and enhance scripts and services used by thousands of builders across AWS. You will gain exposure to distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and reliability engineering while collaborating across the development lifecycle and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in a related field or equivalent certifications.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• Experience with automation tools and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code for internal AWS tools and services, participating in code reviews and feedback.
• Implement and test features to boost developer productivity and operational capabilities across AWS.
• Collaborate across the software lifecycle: design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack with proactive root-cause analysis.
• Automate repetitive tasks and build systems that minimize manual work and cognitive load, using Bedrock where relevant.
• Expand regional reliability for AWS services.
• Conduct deep dives into interdependencies to prevent incident impact.
• Mentor and grow with engineers, fostering excellence and reliability.
