Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Programming Foundations Team within Amazon Builder Experience.

The role focuses on sustaining and evolving shared software platforms, building developer tools, and mentoring engineers across the company. Based in Boston, MA, you will design and improve tooling for building and maintaining code, contribute to OSS upstream projects, review code, and help engineers debug issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer tools used by Amazon engineers.
• Mentor engineers and help bar raise the builder experience.
• Write and review code with teammates and help others debug issues with our tools.
• Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to understand pain points and build tools, libraries, and frameworks that address them.
